WHY SHOULD YOU BE ELECTED?
I am a lifelong resident of the Salem community. I am able to use my business knowledge concerning issues that
face the board. I use a logical and commonsense approach to my decision making process, and do the
appropriate research before arriving at those decisions.
1) What are the main issues facing the district and how would you address them?
The ultimate issue facing the school is providing an education that will enable its students the opportunity to
succeed in their pursuits after their school years. Salem faculty and administration continually evaluate curriculum
and teaching methods and are always willing to make changes in order to achieve continuous improvement.
2) How will you balance improving the school district with the tax constraints facing the district residents?
I believe that New York State needs to change its education funding methods. More state aid is needed to fund
school budgets, shifting more burden to income taxes as opposed to increasing the property tax percentage of the
budget each year. My goal is to minimize property tax increases without loss of educational programs.
3) What would you identify as the best quality of your school district?
The best quality of our school district is our people. Although we are a small district, we have a talented and
dedicated staff in all areas of the school operation. I am privileged to work with board members who are
professional and courteous.
