On May 20th local school district residents will be given the chance to vote on their school’s budget
proposals and board of education elections. Below is a summary of the local proposed school budgets
and the names of those running for school board seats.
                                                                   Cambridge
The $17.9 million spending plan adopted by the Cambridge Central School Board of Education for the
2008-09 academic year includes a tax levy of $7.1 million, an increase of 3.97 percent over last year.
Current board terms expire for Jeff Ravreby, Mike Kelly and Deb Blanchfield. Deb Blanchfield will face a
challenge by Elizabeth Dillard for the seat currently held by Ravreby. Ravreby will seek the seat currently
held by Blanchfield and is facing a challenge from Brent Dupras. The winner of this seat will begin
serving on May 21st. Mike Kelly will run for his current seat and he is being challenged by Thomas
Wolski.

                                                    Meet the Candidates at CCS
This information arrived too late for last week's Eagle: The Cambridge Faculty Association is pleased to announce a community forum to "Meet the Candidates" for
this year's school Board of Education election, with Cambridge Town Supervisor JoAnn Trinkle serving as moderator. The CFA believes this opportunity is especially
important as each of the three seats is contested this year.  This is a fabulous opportunity for voters to hear the candidates' thoughts, opinions, and positions on
relevant school, community, and educational topics. So please join us, Thursday May 15th in the CCS new cafeteria at 6:00 pm to 'meet your candidates'!
